Amberwell Atchison has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines® – Resuscitation Silver quality achievement award for its dedication to delivering guideline-based care for in-hospital cardiac arrest, ultimately helping to improve survival rates.
In-hospital cardiac arrest remains a major clinical and quality-of-care challenge in U.S. hospitals. According to the American Heart Association’s 2026 Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics Report, about one in four adults who experience in-hospital cardiac arrest survive to hospital discharge — a rate that has improved over time and is substantially higher than survival after out-of-hospital arrest. However, opportunities remain to further strengthen in-hospital resuscitation systems and improve outcomes for more patients.
The Get With The Guidelines – Resuscitation program was developed to support hospitals in saving the lives of people who experience in-hospital cardiac arrest by consistently following the most current, science-backed treatment guidelines as outlined by the American Heart Association. These gold-standard guidelines address patient safety protocols, rapid medical emergency team response, high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and post resuscitation care. Through Get With The Guidelines, the Association brings its scientific expertise directly into hospitals nationwide, helping ensure care is aligned with the latest evidence-based practices.
