October 19–25 is National Pharmacy Week, and we’re excited to celebrate our pharmacy teams—both in our retail locations and in inpatient care. To make Pharmacy Week more fun this year, the team chose a custom t-shirt design encouraging everyone to “Support their local pharmers.” Watch for posts throughout the week featuring our Pharmacy teams wearing their shirts.
This past year brought some exciting updates for Amberwell Pharmacy. Patients in Atchison, Hiawatha, Lansing, Leavenworth, Effingham, Lancaster, Everest, Horton, Highland, Robinson, and Troy can now take advantage of free prescription delivery, making it even easier for patients to get their medications safely while staying focused on their health.
We also recently opened a new drive-thru pick-up window at our Atchison location for even more convenience. We continue to offer onsite pharmacy services and easy online refills at both Amberwell Atchison and Amberwell Hiawatha. Whether you’re leaving a clinic appointment or being discharged from inpatient care, you can head home with your prescriptions in hand without making any extra stops.
Our inpatient pharmacy team is also an important part of patient care at Amberwell. They keep medication lists accurate, prepare IVs, restock emergency carts, and support our hospitalists and clinic staff every day in caring for our patients.
In September, we were happy to welcome Samuel Hausmann, PharmD, BCPS, as our new Manager of Inpatient Pharmacy Services at Amberwell Atchison. Samuel grew up in Atchison and brings valuable experience and leadership to our inpatient pharmacy team.
Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians do so much more than fill prescriptions. They make sure every medication is safe, effective, and ready when it’s needed most. During Pharmacy Week, we’re proud to recognize the skill and commitment they bring to caring for our patients and communities.
