Dr. Jones is a fellowship-trained pain specialist with advanced certification from multiple national and international boards in anesthesiology, pain management, and interventional pain procedures. He is part of a very small group of physicians in the Kansas City region with this level of specialty training.
He is active nationally as a lecturer for the pain management section of The National Medical Association, and he also teaches other physicians how to perform advanced procedures such as spinal cord stimulation, radiofrequency neurolysis, and intradiscal therapy.
He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, completed college prep at Northfield Mount Hermon in Massachusetts, earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard, and attended Meharry Medical College for medical school—a path shared by his grandfather, father, and brother.
His training includes a surgery internship at George Washington University Hospital, an anesthesiology residency at King/Drew Medical Center (UCLA-affiliated), and a chronic pain fellowship at Oregon Health Sciences University.
He spent many years in academic and clinical leadership and currently practices across several regional hospitals and surgery centers in the Kansas City area.
