Walk-In Care

To better meet the needs of same-day services, Amberwell Atchison offers a convenient option for no-appointment care from one of our primary care providers. Walk-in care is available from 3-7 pm Monday through Friday and from 8 am to 12 pm on Saturday.

All major insurance plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid are accepted.

Walk-In Care Hours

Monday – Friday: 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Emergency Room CareWalk-In CarePrimary Care Appointment

Visit the Amberwell Atchison emergency room for serious or life threatening conditions that require immediate medical treatment.

Choose walk-in care for mild to moderate ailments or conditions that are not life threatening, but still time sensitive.

Make a primary care appointment for all other concerns that may require continuous medical management.

  • chest pain
  • severe shortness of breath
  • numbness in arms/legs/face
  • slurred speech
  • change or loss of vision
  • sudden dizziness or weakness
  • new onset seizure
  • severe abdominal pain
  • severe headache or head injuries
  • large wounds with uncontrolled bleeding
  • severe trauma or injury
  • major burns
  • severe allergic reactions
  • overdose or poisoning
  • severe depression or panic attacks with suicidal thoughts
  • severe back/neck injuries
  • fever
  • cold or flu like symptoms
  • cough or congestion

  • eye redness or drainage
  • nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
  • frequent or painful urination

  • ongoing chronic medical issues including but not limited to:
    • high blood pressure
    • high blood sugars/diabetes
    • mild swelling in extremities
    • chronic back pain
