OSHA Compliance for Respirator Use 

To comply with OSHA requirements, a physician or licensed healthcare professional must determine whether an employee is capable of wearing a respirator under workplace conditions. Our physicians review medical questionnaires and, if necessary, schedule follow-up testing. On-site testing is available for workplaces with multiple employees requiring evaluations.

Spirometry Testing 

Spirometry testing is an essential part of medical surveillance programs to monitor employees at risk for work-related respiratory disorders. OSHA mandates baseline and periodic retesting for employees exposed to potential respiratory hazards.

• All spirometry testing is conducted by NIOSH-certified technicians.

• Results are assessed by our physicians and compared to industry standards.

Fit Testing

Fit testing ensures that respirators provide proper protection for employees. OSHA requires annual fit testing for all employees using respirators. We offer both qualitative and quantitative methods through our Wellness Express services:

• Qualitative Fit Testing: Uses saccharin or bitrex solution to evaluate respirator fit.

• Quantitative Fit Testing: Conducted with a Portacount device, which measures dust particles inside and outside the mask to provide a computerized pass/fail result.
