Our anesthesia services teams are there for you when you are at your most vulnerable—when you’re having a baby, undergoing a surgical procedure, or seeking relief from chronic pain. They prioritize safety, comfort, and compassion for each patient.
Anesthesia services are provided by anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists. CRNAs are medical providers specially trained in anesthesia. They complete eight to ten years of medical and anesthesia education and over 12,000 hours of clinical training before graduating with advanced degrees as experts in their field.
Services
General anesthesia that affects the entire body, making you unconscious and unable to move. It is used for more invasive surgeries, such as heart surgery, brain surgery, back surgery, and organ transplants.
Local anesthesia, which is used to numb a particular area of the body. You remain awake and alert during local anesthesia. This type of anesthesia is often used for eye surgeries, like cataract removal, in dentistry for filling cavities, to remove skin growths, such as moles and warts, or to numb an area around a deep cut that needs stitches.
Regional anesthesia, which is used for larger areas of the body. For example, it is used for arm surgery, leg surgery, hand and joint surgeries, childbirth, C-section deliveries, or to numb everything below the waist. For this type of anesthesia, you can either remain awake during the procedure or you may be given sedation.
Sedition (aka monitored anesthesia care), which is used for simple procedures that can be completed quickly. This type of anesthesia makes the patient feel very relaxed and reduces the feeling and awareness of pain. Some patients may feel groggy but remain awake and alert while under sedition, while others may fall into a light sleep but can be woken up easily, if needed. Your anesthesia provider will monitor your vital signs and adjust the anesthesia to keep you safe and comfortable. You will not remember pain from the procedure.
Pain management services, which help patients find long-term pain relief and improved function so that they can return to work, participate in sports, and enjoy a better overall quality of life. Advanced image guided injections utilize leading technology such as fluoroscopy and ultrasound.
