We are excited to welcome Amanda Schulte, FNP-BC, to the Emergency Care team at Amberwell Hiawatha. Amanda has over twenty years’ experience in healthcare and has always had a passion for helping people, especially those in need of emergency care. Throughout her career, she has worked in both rural and urban emergency departments.
Amanda grew up around healthcare and has always thought it was an interesting field. When Amanda was a child, her mom worked in the lab at their local community hospital.
Amanda began her career in healthcare as a respiratory therapist before returning to nursing school to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Baker University School of Nursing in Topeka, Kansas. She then went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.
Amanda and her husband, an emergency medical services director, married in 2010 under the “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign in Las Vegas, Nevada. Amanda has a son in the Marines, a daughter who attends K-State, and two stepchildren. She also has a dog and a cat. When she is not caring for patients, Amanda likes to knit and crochet—two hobbies that she taught herself by watching YouTube videos. She also enjoys baking.
