Brenda Rush, RRT, is retiring after over twenty-seven years of service at Amberwell Atchison. Brenda began her career at Amberwell in 1976 in housekeeping before heading back to school to become a licensed practical nurse and then a registered respiratory therapist. She returned to Amberwell in 1988 as a respiratory therapist.
Brenda has loved her time as an RT and all its challenges. She was privileged to have started the pulmonary rehab program at Amberwell Atchison and has loved being able to help clients gain levels of strength they never thought possible. “I will always remember one patient in particular whose goal was to cook Thanksgiving dinner for her family,” said Brenda. “It was truly a day to celebrate when she met that goal.” Brenda is thankful for the time she’s been a part of Amberwell and will fondly remember the many wonderful coworkers she’s had over the years.
In her retirement, Brenda looks forward to camping, traveling, and spending time with family—especially her husband Jim—and being more involved in her church.
Thank you, Brenda, for your many years with Amberwell. Best wishes for your retirement!
