October 10-16 is Perinatal Nurses Week, and Amberwell is using this time to honor the amazing Maternal Care teams at their Atchison and Hiawatha locations. These devoted professionals give top-notch prenatal and birth care to moms and babies. They provide full care starting before birth and continuing until after the baby is born.
At the heart of our standard of care are our Amberwell physicians. They guide parents through the birth process and focus on the health of each person throughout pregnancy. They give tips on prenatal nutrition, watch over the baby’s health, and make sure each birth is safe. Their skill covers all kinds of births, including natural births and C-sections.
Amberwell also wishes to recognize their nurse anesthetists who play an important role during labor. They give needed medications like epidurals for pain or full sedation if there’s an emergency, and our labor nurses who help parents during birth and right after. They assist with breastfeeding, check the baby’s health, and answer new parents’ questions. These nurses are also a great source of information on pregnancy and health, giving parents the knowledge they need.
Even though births happen at Amberwell Atchison and Hiawatha, our clinics teams are vital too. They care for parents before and after birth, providing care that is competent and easy to access.
Amberwell Maternal Care offers a wide range of services, including free pregnancy tests, breastfeeding support classes with certified lactation consultants, birth classes, and extras like aromatherapy during labor and special meals after birth. From the first check-up to support after the baby arrives, Amberwell’s care team is with parents every step of the way.
