Assessment Phone Call: Next, a nurse from Amberwell Surgical Care will call you to ask about your medical history and ensure you do not need a pre-op appointment prior to your procedure. The nurse will go over pre-op instructions.
Prep: The nurse will review with you how to prepare your colon for your colonoscopy and explain what you can and cannot eat or drink before your procedure.
The process begins when you fill out the registration form available on this webpage. This form helps us gather important information about your medical history and current health.
After Registration
Once you submit the form, you will receive a call from a registered nurse in our surgical care team to discuss your responses and any necessary next steps.
During the Phone Call
- Review of your medical history and any previous colonoscopies.
- Discussion of your current medications and any allergies.
- Review of your insurance details.
- Scheduling your colonoscopy, typically at least two weeks in advance to allow time for prior authorization.
- Preoperative education, including information on stopping certain medications if necessary.
