Rachel Frye, FNP-C, is a primary care provider serving at Amberwell Lansing Clinic. Passionate about providing compassionate and comprehensive care, Rachel is especially committed to women’s health and strives to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for all her patients.

On Choosing Amberwell Lansing Clinic

Rachel was drawn to Amberwell because of its focus on building relationships within the community and its commitment to expanding access to care, particularly in the Leavenworth and Lansing area. She is excited to be part of that effort.

“I always wanted to work in primary care,” Rachel shared. “It provides an opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients, and being part of Amberwell’s growth in Lansing is such an honor.”

Her decision to join Amberwell aligns with her belief in collaborative, relationship-driven care—helping patients feel supported throughout their healthcare journey.

On Becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner

Rachel’s path to becoming a nurse practitioner was fueled by a strong calling to care for others. Initially considering a career as a doctor, she discovered her true passion in nursing, where she could provide hands-on, patient-centered care while also focusing on education and advocacy.

“I loved nursing but realized bedside care wasn’t my long-term goal,” she explains.

Her experience as a clinical instructor and her passion for patient education reinforced her decision to pursue advanced practice nursing.

“There’s something special about being able to truly connect with patients and care for them holistically—physically, mentally, and emotionally.”

Rachel believes her nursing background gives her a unique perspective on patient care, allowing her to provide empathetic and understanding support.

“I know what it’s like for patients to be in vulnerable situations,” she said. “That experience helps me provide care with empathy and understanding.”

Patients choose Rachel because of her compassionate, respectful, and empathetic approach to care. She is deeply committed to making her patients feel heard, valued, and understood, particularly when addressing sensitive topics.

“I want my patients to feel truly listened to and cared for—not just physically but as a whole person,” she said. “I strive to create a space where my patients feel comfortable discussing even their most vulnerable concerns.”

About Rachel

Rachel enjoys an active lifestyle and loves spending her downtime playing volleyball, working out, and exploring new hobbies like pickleball. A former high school volleyball player, she still enjoys playing in beach and indoor leagues.

Rachel and her husband live in Shawnee, Kansas, with their dog, Wrenley.

Outside of work, Rachel is dedicated to giving back to the community. She volunteers through her church, taking part in programs that support the local homeless population and provide resources for local families.

“Our church focuses on building community and welcoming others, which is something I love being part of,” she said.

With her blend of skill, compassion, and dedication to patient care, Rachel is proud to serve the Lansing and Leavenworth communities as part of the Amberwell team.
