The Amberwell Atchison Volunteers are a dedicated group who enhance the experience of Amberwell patients and staff daily. Guided by their philosophy, “to make life more significant through unselfish service to others,” they consistently demonstrate generosity and commitment through their work.
We appreciate the time and assistance these volunteers provide each year. They support various areas within Amberwell, including the lobby information desk, the surgery waiting room, and materials management. They also operate the Twice Is Nice Thrift Store in downtown Atchison and the Sunflower Gift Shop at Amberwell Atchison.
Their fundraising efforts, such as their annual golf tournament and a highly anticipated annual bake sale, allow the Volunteers to purchase important healthcare equipment for Amberwell. Past contributions have included wheelchairs, infant warmers, laboratory instruments, vital sign monitors for surgery, transport and mammography monitors for radiology, and a traction table for physical therapy. Additionally, they provide scholarships for local students interested in healthcare careers.
April 20–26 is National Healthcare Volunteer Week, and we are so happy and blessed to recognize the Amberwell Atchison Volunteers. Thank you! We truly appreciate all you do!
