Our talented team of health information management professionals play a vital role in the Amberwell Health organization. Our HIM professionals care for our patients by caring for their medical data. The team is tasked with ensuring the availability, accuracy, integrity, and security of all data related to patient healthcare encounters. Their work enables our organization to make informed healthcare decisions that elevate the quality of healthcare that we provide to our patients.
Impact on Patient Care
Much of the work the HIM team members do is behind the scenes. Although they do not provide hands-on patient care, they often interact with physicians, patients, and insurance companies to ensure that health information collected regarding patient care is appropriately maintained according to set standards, legal requirements, and policies and procedures of Amberwell Health. The work they do helps give our patients positive and efficient healthcare experiences.

Diana Gaddis, Manager of HIM
Diana has been serving with Amberwell Health for two and a half years.
Diana is a HIPAA privacy officer. Part of her role is to ensure our organization’s compliance with applicable federal and state HIPAA regulations and guidelines, especially regarding access to and use of protected health information.
In her role as manager of the health information management team, she works as a liaison with departments to ensure accuracy in documentation and scanning of records, supports providers in their documentation and chart completion, supports clinic staff on diagnosis coding requirements, and works with patients on documentation amendments and other ROI concerns. She monitors revenue cycle goals for the coders on her team and empowers them to grow in their roles and as leaders in the HIM profession. Daina is always looking for ways to make processes more efficient.
On choosing Amberwell Health…
Diana chose Amberwell Health because she loves the people she works with. “In this department,” said Diana, “we work really well together. We genuinely care about each other as people and employees. We care about the work we do and the patients.”
On volunteering…
Diana enjoys being involved in her community. She is a member of the Guidance Center and on the Atchison County Community High School Career and Technology Education advisory board. She also coaches volleyball and helps with her children’s sports teams.
In her spare time...
Diana loves spending time with her family–husband Andrew, son James, and daughter Emily. They are her rock and her biggest cheerleaders and supporters. She wouldn’t be here without their love and support.
She also enjoys taking exercise classes at the YMCA, reading, listening to music, being outdoors, gardening, and taking an occasional Sunday nap.
