Congratulations to Mary Lou Wilson, the latest graduate of our Swing Bed program! We are happy that we were able to celebrate National Bagel Day with her while she was here! We had a great visit with Mary Lou and we’re going to miss having her with us, but we’re excited that she was able to return to her home.
Amberwell’s Swing Bed program acts as a bridge for patients who are not quite ready to return home, even after their acute care has ended. We provide 24-hour, skilled-nursing care, therapy services, and patient-centered activities to help patients regain their independence, return home, and get back to their day-to-day activities. This program is for patients who have been hospitalized at Amberwell Atchison or other facilities outside the Atchison area.
