Amberwell Health is working together with Atchison County Emergency Management, Atchison Community Health Clinic, and Atchison County Health Department to provide opportunities for residents of northeast Kansas to receive the COVID vaccine by organizing mass COVID vaccination events.
Mass COVID vaccination events will begin during Phase 2.
Mass COVID vaccination events will begin when Phase 2 is activated by Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The dates of the events will be scheduled based on when the vaccine is distributed to the participating local health organizations. All who qualify for a vaccine during the active phase, regardless of county residence, will be able to receive a vaccine at one of the mass COVID vaccination events.
COVID Vaccine Interest Survey now available.
To help with the planning of the upcoming mass COVID vaccination events, those interested in receiving a COVID vaccine are encouraged to complete the online COVID Vaccine Interest Survey. Those who complete the survey will be added to an email list to receive notifications about when and where vaccines are available. Please note that the survey is a planning tool to help plan and organize vaccine administration and that completing it does not guarantee that you will receive a vaccine.
The survey is available at nekshotofhope.org/interest-survey.

Benedictine Sisters volunteer Sophia Center for vaccination events.
One of the community vaccination event locations will be the main building of the Sophia Center in Atchison, volunteered by the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica. The building has a large indoor space that promotes social distancing during registration and vaccination administration as well as the 15-minute monitoring period required after the vaccination. All vaccines will be administered by licensed nurses from Amberwell Health, Atchison Community Health Clinic, and the Atchison County Health Department.
