This week, as we celebrate Emergency Nurses Week, we are also shining a light of appreciation on our collective emergency care teams in Atchison and Hiawatha, who play a pivotal role in safeguarding our communities. Our emergency care nurses are indispensable, providing immediate and critical care to patients in their most vulnerable moments. We rely on their expertise and quick decision-making to stabilize, treat, and, sometimes, even save lives during medical emergencies. Their unique blend of skill, compassion, and resilience ensures that patients receive the best possible care in high-pressure situations.
Led by Amy Folsom at Amberwell Atchison and Gloria Johnson at Amberwell Hiawatha, our dedicated teams provide top-notch emergency care. From our providers who stabilize and treat patients, to our access representatives ensuring efficient patient check-ins, to our vigilant RNs, LPNs, and patient care technicians who work together to care for patients, and our house supervisors who oversee smooth operations—each is vital in delivering exceptional care to our communities.
The emergency department couldn’t provide high quality emergency care without the support of other key departments. Our radiology services swiftly aid in accurate diagnoses with essential visuals. Our laboratory technicians deliver crucial diagnostic information, and our housekeeping staff ensures a clean environment for our patients. These departments are invaluable to the care we provide for each patient who walks through our doors.
Access to quality emergency care is fundamental for a thriving community. It impacts the preservation of life, prevents disabilities, and boosts community confidence and public health. We are proud to have such dedicated teams in Atchison and Hiawatha, making a significant difference every day!
Join us in thanking the Amberwell Emergency Care team for their dedication and commitment to keeping our communities safe and healthy!
