Amberwell Hiawatha is proud to share that Morgan Alvarado, RN, a dedicated OB nurse, has received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This national recognition honors nurses who go above and beyond to deliver compassionate, skillful care to their patients and families.
Morgan was nominated by a patient who shared the following:
“Morgan and her team went above and beyond to make sure that myself, my baby, and our support people were taken care of during our stay at Amberwell Hiawatha. My family was blessed to have Morgan as our nurse most of our stay at Amberwell—from being induced, during labor, and postpartum, as well as taking care of our daughter while she was admitted at the hospital. Morgan always talked to us about our concerns or questions and never made us feel unheard. Morgan is a kind, caring, intelligent, and passionate nurse who gives the best care to each patient she has. I loved talking farm animals and all kinds of exotic food with her. She made me feel like family while I was in the deepest of trenches due to my postpartum hormones. Thank you for your kind, caring demeanor. You'll always hold a special place in my family's heart.”
The DAISY Award was created by the DAISY Foundation to honor nurses who deliver extraordinary care with clinical excellence and heartfelt compassion. Award recipients receive a certificate, a DAISY pin, and a hand-carved sculpture called A Healer’s Touch.
