Amberwell Health is working alongside local leaders and organizations in Atchison and Hiawatha to update the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNAs). As part of this process, we’re asking those who live or work in Atchison County or Brown County to complete a short survey. These surveys are designed to gather input from residents and business leaders about the strengths, gaps, and future needs of healthcare services in our communities.
CHNAs are a tool to help identify and prioritize the health-related needs of a community. They support long-term planning, guide collaboration among local organizations, and help ensure that future health strategies reflect the people they serve.
Our Role in the Process
Amberwell is leading the effort to bring people together for this conversation, but we know that no single organization can meet every need. A strong, healthy community depends on shared input and shared responsibility—from residents, businesses, nonprofit agencies, and healthcare providers alike.
That’s why your voice matters. Whether you live or work in Atchison County, Brown County, or both, we encourage you to take the survey that applies to you:
You’re welcome to complete both surveys if you’re actively involved in both areas.
Deadline to Complete the Survey
Please share your input by Wednesday, June 19, 2025.

About the CHNA Process
To ensure an objective and well-rounded process, Amberwell has partnered with VVV Consultants LLC, an independent research firm based in Olathe, Kansas. This firm will help compile and analyze the survey data in preparation for the town hall discussions.
Thank you for helping shape the future of health in our region. When we listen together, plan together, and act together, our entire community benefits.
