Amberwell nurse anesthetist David Hart, DNP, CRNA, NSPM-C (front left), recently returned from instructing at the University of South Florida’s Advanced Pain Management Fellowship Workshop in Tampa, Florida. The Advanced Pain Management Fellowship is a post-graduate certification that trains the best and brightest nurse anesthetists in the concepts of pain, pharmacologic management, assessment, radiologic studies, interventional approaches, and the psychologic aspects of pain management. The program culminates in a clinical practicum where these concepts are practiced.
Hart instructs the Pathophysiology of Pain course, serves as a clinical coordinator, and is developing other courses focusing on Integrative Pain Management targeting primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, and nutritionists in multidisciplinary aspects of pain management that will be launching in 2021. Hart has been involved with the USF program and training since 2016.
Hart provides acute and chronic pain management services to Amberwell Health patients along with anesthesiologist Darin Allen, MD. Both are excited to continue bringing skillful, compassionate pain management services to Atchison and the surrounding area.
