On Respiratory Care Week, Amberwell would like to acknowledge and honor the contributions made by the respiratory care team at our Amberwell Atchison and Amberwell Hiawatha locations. Our respiratory care team is overseen in Atchison by the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services, Crystal Irwin, and Karen Tanking, Respiratory Therapist, in Hiawatha.
Our respiratory therapists are the backbone of lung care, treating a diverse group of patients that range from premature infants to senior individuals suffering from respiratory issues. These professionals offer crucial interventions such as oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and lung medication administration, thereby significantly improving the quality of life for countless individuals.
2023 marks the second year that Amberwell is offering specialized care for our youngest patients in the form of outpatient nasal suctioning services available at our Amberwell Atchison location. Designed for babies up to twenty-four months who are dealing with bronchiolitis, this offering is integrated into the spectrum of comprehensive care provided by the respiratory care team. Outpatient nasal suctioning services are available with a referral from any area primary care physician and address a crucial need in pediatric respiratory health. The availability of this important service further exemplifies the team’s commitment to quality care across all age groups.
The respiratory care teams at Amberwell Atchison and Amberwell Hiawatha are essential in caring for patients with heart and lung issues. This week we celebrate their excellence within the healthcare community and are proud to recognize each team member for their contributions. Thank you for your work.
