Thank you to our Amberwell Atchison patient transporters for all of your hard work and for providing a positive and safe patient experience for our guests.
Patient transporters help take our patients where they need to go within Amberwell Atchison. Sometimes this means walking with the patients to their destinations and sometimes it means transporting with a wheelchair. Either way, our compassionate patient transporters are always willing to help. Throughout the day, our transporters may also be called upon to transport specimens and blood swabs to the lab or balloons and flowers to our inpatients. Due to COVID-19, two patient transporters are also currently serving as screeners at the main entrance of Amberwell Atchison.
Impact on Patient Care
Amberwell patient transporters have a direct impact on patient care. To the patient, they become a reassuring presence in an unfamiliar and sometimes frightening environment. They often help anxious patients who do not feel well or who are worried about surgery they are having. They offer compassion, a friendly face, and a kind greeting to all the guests they get to help.
