October 6 to 12 is Emergency Care Appreciation Week at Amberwell, and we’re taking a moment to appreciate our emergency care teams in Atchison and Hiawatha. These teams play a huge role in keeping our communities safe.
Our emergency nurses are there when it matters most, delivering critical care when patients are at their most vulnerable. Their skill, quick thinking, and ability to act fast can make all the difference in stabilizing, treating, and sometimes even saving lives during medical emergencies. Their mix of expertise, compassion, and strength ensures that patients get the care they need, even in the toughest situations.
The entire team works together to provide top-notch care. From the providers who stabilize patients, to the access reps who keep things moving smoothly at check-in, to the RNs, LPNs, and patient care techs who work side by side to care for patients, and the house supervisors who keep everything on track—everyone plays a key part in delivering excellent care to our patients.
Of course, our emergency department couldn’t function without help from other important departments. Radiology helps us get fast, accurate diagnoses with critical imaging. Our lab techs provide essential diagnostic info, and housekeeping keeps the environment clean and safe for everyone. These departments are just as crucial in the care of every patient who comes through our doors.
Quality emergency care is vital for a strong, healthy community. It helps save lives, prevents disabilities, and gives people confidence in their health care. We’re so proud of the dedicated teams in Atchison and Hiawatha, who make a difference every single day!
Join us in thanking the Amberwell Emergency Care team for their hard work and commitment to keeping our communities safe and healthy!
