We are happy to announce that certified registered nurse anesthetist Jamie Garrett has joined the Surgical Care team of Amberwell Atchison as a full-time provider. Prior to joining Amberwell Health, Jamie spent several years providing anesthesia services in the gastrointestinal field. She is excited to be returning to Atchison, where she received her undergraduate degree from Benedictine College.
“I have always loved the Atchison community and wanted to be a part of it,” said Jamie. “It’s always held a special place in my heart. I also like that I can really get to know my patients at Amberwell Atchison and treat a variety of different health needs.”
Patient-centered care is extremely important to Jamie. “My top priorities are to create a safe environment for each patient and to make each patient feel comfortable prior to, during, and after their procedure,” she said. “I often use humor to lighten the stress of the experience for the patient.”
Jamie has two sons, two daughters, and one grandson. In addition to caring for patients, Jamie enjoys spending time with her family, being active in her church, horseback riding, and breeding Bernedoodles and Bernese Mountain Dogs.
