Arlene Long, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC

Arlene Long, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, is an experienced primary care and behavioral care provider at Amberwell Atchison and Amberwell Hiawatha. Arlene is a key member of the treatment team of Amberwell Senior Life Services outpatient group therapy program.

On choosing Amberwell Health…

“I chose Amberwell because the position offered to me presented new and interesting opportunities,” said Arlene, “particularly helping to start a new intensive outpatient program. I love that through the program, I get to help patients get their lives back on track and renew hope for their future.”

On becoming a healthcare provider…

“I went into healthcare because I wanted to help people,” said Arlene. “Even though I grew up in a military family, we were always focused on service to others and being involved in the community. I find joy in helping patients and seeing them progress. I’m fortunate that I can continue helping others at Amberwell.”

About Arlene

Arlene lives about five miles west of White Cloud, Kansas, where she enjoys riding her horse, walking her dog, and gardening. She has been married to a Kansas farmer since 1984 and enjoys helping him around the farm. They have two grown sons, two daughters-in-law, and two grandsons. Her grandsons live nearby and are homeschooled, and Alene enjoys spending a lot of time with them. In her free time, she loves volunteering in the community, especially with the humane society, and is active in her church.
