Lexy J. Rooney, PA-C

Lexy J. Rooney, PA-C, has served with the Amberwell Orthopedic Care team since 2014. She has practiced with multiple orthopedic doctors in both office and surgical settings with knowledge in many different specialties of orthopedics. Lexy received her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University in Boston, Massachusetts, and is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

On choosing Amberwell Health…

Lexy enjoys that she has the opportunity to serve in both an office setting and a surgical setting with Amberwell Orthopedic Care along with a great team of providers.

On choosing to become a physician assistant…

Lexy became interested in the medical field after enduring a knee injury in high school. “What I love about being a physician assistant,” she said, “is that I can be involved with patients throughout their entire healing process, helping them to improve their lifestyle and get back to doing what they enjoy.”

On being patient-centered…

At Amberwell, we focus on patient-centered care. We ask each of our providers to tell us what being patient-centered means to them personally.

“To me, patient-centered care means working out the best plan of treatment for the patient while including the patient in that process,” said Lexy. “Our patients range from children to young athletes to parents and grandparents, and they all want to be able to do different levels of activity to maintain their desired quality of life. It’s important that I get to know and understand what those levels are so that I can work with the patient to get them on the best track to achieving their goals. Then I can help them and guide them along the way.”

In her free time, Lexy enjoys spending time with her husband Chris. They spend a lot of time outdoors, working on their house, and catering to their pup Zima.
