The quality of care was top notch- we felt heard, understood, and cared for here. We were highly impressed with the response time when we showed up unknown and in need. Within a minute we had two doctors and a team of nurses attending to us- all highly professional and with deep care and concern for us. All of the nurses (Chelsea, Morgan, Angela, and Jessie) were FANTASTIC! They each showed us top most, professional care and obviously had genuine concern for our specific needs. We couldn’t be more pleased with our stay. If we had known how wonderful Amberwell Hiawatha was we would have planned to have our baby here in the first place. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
All of my nurses at Amberwell Hiawatha were fantastic! I had seen Julia a few times prior to delivery, and she was always very kind and offered a wealth of information. Chelsea was always eager to help me or get me anything I needed. Jessie was fantastic—always very personable and making sure I was comfortable and well-informed about everything going on. Brittany went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and that everything was perfect with Baby! Morgan was phenomenal, especially when it came to education and discharge. Many of these ladies were here when I delivered seven years ago with my first child, and it was so nice to see familiar faces and know they were experts at what they do. I could not have had a more positive experience!
The Amberwell Hiawatha Maternal Care Staff all did an outstanding job from prenatal care to delivery and postpartum.
Dr.Jarvis has had a hand in delivering all three of our children, she cares and explained everything to us every step of the way.
The nurses treated our family with the same level of care! Julia was so nice and made me feel very secure and taken care of. Melanie took great care of us the first night. I love how she shared her breastfeeding tips with me.
Morgan was very excited and we could feel that she really cared about our family. Brandy was very attentive to both mom and dad as well as our baby!

This was by far my best birth experience ever! The staff was supportive and encouraging throughout labor, delivery and recovery. They encouraged me to labor in any position with any equipment I desired as long as the baby and I were healthy!
I felt like I was completely in control of my labor and I felt right at home. The nurses and doctor actually read my birth plan and wanted to match my experience to my requests. They went above and beyond! This team has the mom and baby’s best interests in mind and I never felt I had a need they missed. Thank you so very much!!
All of the nurses that took care of us were great! They all went above and beyond to make our labor, delivery, and postpartum stay a breeze. Our midwife, Kristy Selland, was also very considerate and helpful throughout our time here. Our nurse, Brandy Rice, put in extra effort to make our stay comfortable. The care and concern the nursing staff showed us was top-notch.
Our stay was amazing. Amberwell Hiawatha has such a good team. Each team member did amazing and gave wonderful advice that will be used. Morgan was a star. She was on it. Her tips with breastfeeding were greatly appreciated along with her encouragement. Alex was great, giving great advice and encouragement along with her patience with my little ornery Owen. Julia went above and beyond helping me with my stubborn hair by making a beautiful yet comfortable braid!
Working in a labor and delivery unit, you see all different types of births—planned, unplanned, fast, slow, complicated, uncomplicated. But when your own delivery and postpartum experience gets quickly turned upside down, personal nursing knowledge goes out the window.
When told at my 37-week appointment I would need to be induced that day, many thoughts raced through my head—it’s too soon, I have too much to do—but I never had the thought that I (or my baby) wouldn’t be completely and totally cared for, and more importantly, safe. That’s because of the nurses and providers at Amberwell Hiawatha. My birthing experience, while sooner than I wanted, was everything I wanted and more.
Then, when I quickly became pre-eclamptic after delivery, I knew that I would be the safest returning to Amberwell Hiawatha. Being on the patient side of healthcare can make you feel vulnerable and unsure of what to expect, but the outstanding care that I immediately received gave me a sense of calm due to the utmost trust I could place in my care team.
My son and myself were readmitted to the hospital after birth for an additional four days and not once did I wish or wonder if I should be transferred to a ‘higher level of care.’ I knew I was receiving the finest care possible from people who truly cared about me and my family.
While I hope my next delivery comes with much more peace and fewer complications, I know there is nowhere else I plan to receive OUTSTANDING care for prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and beyond.
Alex was very helpful and confident in what she was doing, Jessie made sure that we understood everything and walked us through everything, Brittany was very helpful. All our nurses were very polite, helpful, considerate, down to earth, and very easy to talk with. We loved our nurses so much. Our midwife, Kristy was amazing as well. She made sure we understood our options and made sure things were explained before anything happened.
The experience I had with all of you was 10 times better than the experience I had when I had my son at a different hospital.

The quality of care Tate and I had was perfect. Everyone was soooo helpful to all of our needs.
Morgan was AMAZING help every day she was here… during my labor, with my postpartum care, and breastfeeding help. She made sure both Dallas and I felt comfortable with everything we had to do during our visit and as first-time parents in general. She made it feel like it wasn’t just nurse/patient interactions, and that truly helped.
Huge thank you to ALL of the nursing staff because EVERYONE was truly amazing help with everything. I am so happy with all of the care, help, and advice I have received during my visit from every single nurse that came to my room.
Compared to my birthing experience and stay 14 years ago, I can honestly say the quality of care was top notch.
This was the best experience we've had between all of our children. The staff were all amazing.
Hanah and Morgan were very sweet and hands on during labor. Alex was so sweet and great with the care of our baby. Emily took great care of me during and after delivery. She was very in tune and talked me through every step of the way. They all took into consideration feeding times and resting times for my baby and me.
They explained everything needed to where I could understand and rarely left me without needing to ask questions. Everything down to our dinner rolls from our candlelight dinner was great!

Dr. Mariah Kriwiel and the staff at Amberwell Hiawatha were honored to deliver Oakley Lehmkuhl, born to Britney and Levi Lehmkuhl, at 10:49 PM on January 11th, 2024. Oakley weighed 8 lbs 12oz and was 20 inches long at birth. Congratulations to the happy parents!
