The Nutrition Services team of Amberwell Atchison provides meal service and snacks for inpatients, as well as serves meals to staff, physicians, and the public in our cafeteria.
Registered dietitians provides clinical nutrition services and nutritional assessments for inpatients when indicated, and works closely with the physicians, rehab services, nursing, and social workers to develop and implement care plans for patients at nutritional risk, including, but not limited to wound healing and nutritional support, and also in developing discharge plans. Therapeutic diet education is available for inpatients at the request of the physician, nursing, or the patient.
An Amberwell Health dietitian is available to provide therapeutic diet education for outpatients when ordered by a physician. Consultations may be done on a variety of nutritional needs, such as diabetes, weight loss, or elevated cholesterol levels.
