A simple in-office procedure used to evaluate changes in the skin or tissue of the vulva.
A vulvar biopsy is a quick procedure used to better understand skin changes, irritation, or unusual spots in the vulvar area. Your provider takes a small tissue sample, which is then examined in a lab to check for signs of infection, inflammation, or other conditions. The procedure is done in a private setting, usually takes just a few minutes, and most people can return to normal activities shortly after. Your provider will guide you through what to expect before, during, and after the visit.
