What is occupational therapy?

What kind of equipment will I use?
Whether in home, in the hospital, or in our outpatient clinic, we are able to use different types of equipment to help with education for ADLs and strengthening the upper body. This includes adaptive equipment such as reacher, sock aid or long handled sponge, and exercise equipment like TheraBand, arm bike, and wrist weights.
How is occupational therapy different from other therapies?
Occupational therapy addresses, specifically, upper extremity dysfunction, pain, and limitation. We also work with patients on activities of daily living with goals of improving independence and maintaining quality of life.
