In honor of Bone and Joint Health Week on October 12-20, we are celebrating our orthopedic care team for the entire month of October and appreciating them for the impact they have on our community.
Amberwell is grateful for the expertise and dedication of our orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Duncan and Dr. Carpenter. We’re excited to announce that as of November 6th, Dr. Joshua D. Nelson will be joining our team, offering his services at both Amberwell Atchison and Amberwell Lansing Clinic We also want to express our appreciation to the entire orthopedic staff for their continuous support and care for our patients.
Dr. Brian Duncan’s extensive experience in both total and partial joint replacement, coupled with his expertise in treating a wide range of athletic and general orthopedic injuries, has benefited numerous individuals with both chronic and acute orthopedic conditions. His vast knowledge serves as a significant resource for the Atchison, Hiawatha, and Lansing areas. Dr. Shannon Carpenter is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in shoulder and elbow procedures. She offers shoulder and elbow arthroscopy, minimally invasive shoulder replacement, cartilage restoration procedures, and regenerative medicine, attending to patients at Amberwell Lansing Clinic and performing surgeries at Amberwell Atchison.
Dr. Nelson brings a rich and diverse background with him, having previously worked for renowned organizations such as the MLB and NFL leagues. His connection with Dr. Duncan dates back to their shared experiences during residency days, and we are looking forward to having him onboard.
Our surgeons do not care for patients alone, however. physicians’ assistants Lexy Rooney, PA and Lisa Childress, PA, work together with anesthetists, nurses, receptionists, athletic trainers, and administrative staff to help patients transition from discomfort to improved mobility. At Amberwell, our orthopedic care team is consistently focused on enhancing lives.
