The education department provides CPR training and Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support for all employees who provide care to patients. The CPR renewals are offered once a month and the ACLS classes are held 5 times a year to assure everyone can attend. These certifications are renewed every two years to update the employees on new and current practices in the care of our patients.
All American Heart Association CPR and ACLS classes as well as Emergency Nurses Association Trauma Nursing Core Courses and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course are available to the public.
All complete an annual competency evaluation to assure competency and to update them on changes in policy or procedures. The education department is accredited by the Kansas State Board of Nursing as a provider of continuing education for nurses. At the request of any department manager, the education department provides specific educational classes to the staff to assure that they are up to date on current technology and procedures.
