The High Performing designation is the highest honor a hospital can achieve in U.S. News’ annual evaluation of maternity care services. Amberwell Atchison was recognized for delivering outstanding outcomes in areas such as low C-section rates for lower-risk pregnancies, reduced newborn complications, and the adoption of birthing-friendly practices. This rigorous evaluation underscores the hospital’s commitment to quality care and transparency.

U.S. News evaluated 817 hospitals nationwide, and only half earned the distinction of Best Hospitals for Maternity Care. The rankings are based on objective quality measures, including severe unexpected newborn complication rates, exclusive breastfeeding rates, and efforts to address racial and ethnic disparities in maternal care.
