We are excited to welcome Family Nurse Practitioner Sarah Bakri to the Amberwell Health primary care team. Sarah’s primary focus will be providing care in our walk-in clinic. Sarah decided to go back to school to earn her doctorate of nursing practice after spending three years in Angola, Africa, and seeing the state of healthcare in a third-world country. She spent her previous nursing career caring for pediatric patients with diverse healthcare needs and is excited to expand her focus to caring for patients of all age groups in her hometown of Atchison.
Sarah chose Amberwell Health because of the people and the Atchison community. Having performed the bulk of her graduate clinical rotations at Amberwell Atchison, Sarah was well-acquainted with the hard-working and dedicated individuals who serve on the primary care team. As an Atchison native, Sarah knew that Atchison is an exceptional community in which to serve.
Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kansas State University. She then earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice, all from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.
Sarah looks forward to providing patient-centered care to individuals in Atchison and its surrounding communities. “Patient-centered care,” said Sarah, “means working as a team with the patient to ensure that they receive high-quality care that is tailored to fit their personal beliefs, values, and lives.”
