What is a Hospitalist?
During your stay at Amberwell Atchison, members of the hospitalist service team will take care of you and your family members. A hospitalist specializes in caring for patients who have been admitted for care. Our hospitalists are providers who medically manage every aspect of inpatient care, including our intensive care, medical-surgical, and swing bed units.
Care Team Rounds
Care Team Rounds are daily bedside interactions between the patient, family, hospitalist, and other members of team, including nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dieticians, pharmacists, case managers, and social workers. The goal of Care Team Rounds is to create an environment where patients, families, and Amberwell Health employees work together for the best health outcomes for the patient. Care Team Rounds brings everyone involved in the patient’s care together which creates an environment of direct communication and provides a venue for immediate clarification of any miscommunication. Patients and families directly participate in the plan of care.
